A planned ‘Armed Protest’ likely to be performed at Washington DC and 50 states Capitols warns FBI.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has alerted that it has obtained some ‘intelligence that “armed protest” are being planned to be carried out in all US state Capitols including Washington DC on January 20 which is the run up for President-elect Joe Biden inauguration. This is leading to more fears of deadly violence by the pro-trump supporters of the outgoing President of the US, Donald Trump.
Social media posts on far-rights online networks and on pro-Trump have called for a number of dates to demonstrate their protest action which includes ‘arms’ on January 17 in various cities in the US and on the inauguration day they plan on to march towards Washington DC.
The FBI bulletin which was acquired by various media outlets states that “Armed protests are being planned at all 50 Capitols from January 16 through at least January 20 and at the US Capitol from January 17 through January 20.” The 46th President of the United States Joe Biden is slated to be sworn into power on January 20 along with Vice-President Kamala Harris who is an Indian origin. Biden said on Monday to the reporters that he is not afraid to take the oath. It is also expected that both Biden and Harris will sworn in outside the building of the Capitol where two weeks ago it was site of a deadly raid by the pro-Trump supporters who wee n opposition of the election results.
The outgoing President Trump of the Republican has reluctantly accepted his defeat in the elections only after November 3 when the Congressional certification was done and has also promised a smooth transition of power.
