A Dalit Girl was brutally Gang-Raped


Four men accused of gang raping a 19 year old dalit girl on September 14, 2020, has been arrested by Hathras police in Uttar Pradesh. The victim is currently battling for her life in a hospital in Aligarh, where she is on ventilator support.
On the day of the incident the girl had gone to the field along with her mother, later in the evening her family members lodge a complaint when she went missing and later found her in a critical state outside the village.
According to a statement given by Hathras Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Vir. "There was a severe cut on the victim's tongue, which indicates on an attempt to strangulate her."
The police arrested a 20 year old boy name Sandip for the crime based on preliminary evidence.
Sooner, the girl identified the accused as Sandip, Ramu, Luvkush and Ravi. All of the four has been arrested by Hathras police.
The survivor is currently undergoing treatment at the JN College hospital in Aligarh. Doctors who are treating her said "she had injuries on her neck, brutally raped and her condition is critical."
"The accused has been charged under Indian Panel Code (IPC) section 307 (attempted to murder) and later they has been charged with gang rape under section 376 D." said by Hathras ASP Prakash Kumar. He also stated that the case will be tried by a fast track court.
Congress leader Sheoraj Jiwan met the victim's family members and blame the police for their negligence in this case. Then he also claimed that the girl was shifted to Aligarh when her condition was worsened. He also demanded police protection for that girl and his family and a sum of 20 lakhs for them.
