ISSF WC: Saurabh-Manu win 10m air pistol, Divyansh- Elavenil claim 10m air rifle mixed team gold

The Indian pairs won gold in 10m air pistol and 10m air rifle mixed team events at the ongoing ISSF World Cup.


In the ongoing ISSF World Cup, Indian shooters fought hard and helped India take a lead by winning gold in their respective categories. India won nine medals and topped the medals tally on the third day of competitions with the USA in second position with five medals. The Indian shooters Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker defeated the Iranian duo of Javad Foroughi and Golnoush Sebghatollahi to clinch gold medal in 10m air pistol mixed team event on Monday. The Indian pair won with a score 16-12 in the finals.

Earlier, another Indian duo of Abhishek Verma and Yashaswini Singh Deswal had won bronze by beating Turkish pair of Illayda Sevval Tarhan and Ismail Keles 17-13 in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Yashaswini also won gold in the individual women's event while Abhishek won bronze in the men's event.

In the 10m air rifle mixed team event, the Indian duo of Divyansh Singh Panwar and Elavenil Valarivan scored a combined total of 16 to defeat Hungarian pair of Istvan Peni and Eszter Denes and claimed gold in the ongoing event. This was the first medal for Elavenil while second for Divyansh who had earlier won bronze in the men's 10m air rifle event.
