LeT Militant killed in J&K Baramulla Encounter

The terrorist has been identified as Irshad Ahmd Bhat of Pattan Baramulla


The J&K Police informed on Sunday that an encounter broke out on Saturday night in Baramulla Kashmir and that at least one terrorist was killed. A lot of incriminating materials were confiscated from the terrorists including arms and ammunition were found including 1 AK47 rifle and 2 magazines. 

 

The terrorist has been identified as Irshad Ahmd Bhat of Pattan, in Baramulla. Ahmd Bhat has been active since 2005 and was linked with the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. Another terrorist is believed to be trapped and a search operation is underway in the area to find him and arrest him.  

 

Kashmir Zone Police took it to Twitter to announce the encounter killing as they said, “#BaramullaEncounter 01 #terrorist killed. #Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition recovered. Search going on”. 

 

The encounter took place in the late hours of Saturday evening. Security forces on Friday had arrested two hybrid militants of the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession, as per the police statement. 

 

The Hybrid terrorist is a term coined by the security forces in Jammu & Kashmir to describe the terrorists who carry out a subversive task assigned to them by their assigned outfit handlers before they slip back in their normal lives. When these hybrid terrorists are not undertaking a terror mission, they lead normal lives. 

 

The two hybrid terrorists are identified as Talib Ahmad Sheikh of Laderwan, Kupwara and Shameem Ahmad of Kawadi Laderwan, Kupwara have been arrested by the police and army, a police official informed. From them four pistols, eight pistol magazines, 130 pistol rounds and 10 hand grenades were confiscated.
