Osama Bin Laden’s kin donated £1 million to Prince Charles’ Foundation

Bakr Bin Laden and Shafiq donated to Prince Charles’ foundation...

Half Brothers of the 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden, Bakr bin Laden and Shafiq, donated £1 million (estimated $1.19 million, 1.21 million euro) to Prince Charles’ charitable trust. The Sunday Times revealed the report of the donation on Saturday. The reports said that Prince Charles had accepted the donation from Osama bin Laden’s family.

There have been no evidence or reports suggesting that Bakr bin Laden or Shafiq have sponsored or have been a part of terror activities as well, or even a terrorist organisation at all. The news has said that the donation by them increased scrutiny on Prince Charles’ charity organisations and has been rocked by allegations of criminal wrongdoings.

The report informed that Prince Charles had accepted the donation to the Prince of Wales Charitable Fund (PWCF) after meeting Bakr bin Laden at Clarence House in London in 2013. The meeting took place just two years after Osama bin Laden was brutally killed in Pakistan’s Abbottabad by a special operations team of the United States of America military.

Many advisers said that they had warned Prince Charles to not accept the donation by Bakr and Shafiq. PWCF chairman Sir Ian Cheshire in a statement said that the donation by Bakr and Shafiq was carefully considered by the fund’s trustees at the time and the decision was taken after a lot of thought. Cheshire said that “due diligence was conducted with information sought from a wide range of sources, including the government. The decision to accept the donation was taken wholly by trustees and any attempt to suggest otherwise is misleading”.
