PM Modi Asks Indian Air Force To Join Evacuation Efforts

IAF is likely to deploy several C-17 aircraft as part of Operation Ganga!


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the Indian Air Force (IAF) to assist in evacuating Indian Nations from the War Zone. Many Indians have been stuck during this conflict.

 

According to the sources given to NDTV it said"Leveraging the capacities of our Air Force will ensure that more people can be evacuated in a shorter time frame. It will also help deliver humanitarian aid more efficiently," sources 

 

According to the information given by PTI it said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, called on President Ram Nath Kovind and briefed him on the prevailing situation and steps being taken by the government.

 

Indian Air Force is expected to deploy several C-17 aircraft as part of Operation Ganga from today. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by PM Modi last evening. He told the meeting that the government was working round the clock and leaving no stone unturned to ensure that all Indians are evacuated safely from Ukraine.

 

As per the information, PM Modi has also spoken to his counterparts in Romania and the Slovak Republic, Ukraine's neighboring countries from where India is planning to evacuate its citizens, about evacuation efforts from their countries.

 

Several students evacuated from Ukraine arrived in Mumbai by an Air India Express flight from the Romanian capital Bucharest on Tuesday morning. On Monday, the government said that of the estimated 20,000 Indian nationals who were present in Ukraine about 8,000 have left the country since its first advisory earlier this month.
