PM Modi hails Lord Buddha on Ashadha Purnima, says teachings can help tackle Covid-19

A day ago, PM Modi had requested people to watch government channels for his message at the Ashadha Purnima-Dhamma Chakra Day program.


On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed people about the teachings of Lord Buddha. On Ashadha Purnima Dhamma Chakra Day, he said Lord Buddha's preachings can guide the country out of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the event which happened virtually, PM Modi spoke about the sorrow and the reasons and added that one can win against sorrow, no matter how dire. The Prime Minister shared the importance of Lord Buddha's teachings which can guide us, take us away from darkness in the pandemic. He added that the joint effort with other countries of sharing the strength can help us tackle the pandemic.

"Today, humankind has faced lots of crises in the form of a pandemic. Lord Buddha plays a relevant role in life," PM Modi said. He added, "By walking in his path, India can face challenges. Countries in joining hands together can grow in giving strength, including taking the values of Buddha." Meanwhile, President Ram Nath Kovind also spoke about Lord Buddha's importance in his life.

A day ago, through his twitter handle, he requested people to watch the government channels for his message at the Ashadha Purnima-Dhamma Chakra Day program.”The program is held at 8:30 AM on 24th July, at the Ashadha Purnima-Dhamma Chakra Day program,” PM Narendra Modi tweeted on Friday. Each year, Guru Purnima is celebrated, which is dedicated to all the spiritual leaders, on the occasion of the full moon. Purnima is the Hindu month of Ashadha, which is from June to July.
