Schools issue Advisories, Return to Online Classes!

Viral infections spreading rapidly…

The Indian School in Delhi has issued an advisory on their website stating, “Parents must refrain from sending the child to school until the rash has healed completely and no fever has returned for at least 24 hours (at least 7 to 10 days from the onset of symptoms).

While some schools have issued advisories, others have resorted to opting for online classes after states recorded a spike in cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease.

Some schools in the Delhi-NCR have issued advisories to make parents aware of the viral infection that has been spreading fast among children between 5 and 10 years and predominantly in primary classes.

As per the information the advisory further stated, “Any child with a rash should get a medical prescription from the consulting doctors stating that he or she does not have a contagious or infectious disease before joining classes.”

Prominent city schools such as The Air Force School in Subroto Park and Sanskriti School have issued a health advisory on FHMD and overall infectious disease along with vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria.

Two weeks ago, around 24 cases of the highly contagious hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) were reported in the tricity.

Even in Karnataka, one private preschool in Bengaluru has issued a circular to keep the school closed till August 21 due to the rise in cases of HFMD. Some schools have opted to go online and continue with online classes since there is a significant drop in attendance due to the sickness.
