Two Robbers Pretending to Be Traffic Cops

Flee with Rs 50 lakh...

In New Delhi, the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police caught two men who pretended to be traffic cops and stole 50 lakh rupees from an employee of a pan masala company. The employee was on his way back after collecting a payment.

The police filed a case, known as an FIR, using sections 419 (for cheating by pretending to be someone else), 382 (for theft with intent to cause harm or use force), and 34 (for a shared criminal intent) of the Indian Penal Code. They started investigating the incident at the IP Estate police station.

The individuals responsible for the crime have been identified as Mahender, who is 21 years old and comes from Alwar district in Rajasthan, and Sandeep, also known as Chetan, aged 34 and hailing from Greater Noida district in Uttar Pradesh. The robbers concealed their faces using helmets, and the motorcycles they used were stolen.

Since the complainant couldn't provide any leads, the only choice was to trace the robbers through technical methods. Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ravindra Singh Yadav, explained that technical analysis was used to pinpoint the phones used by the suspects.

Police carried out raids in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. They managed to locate the hideouts of the accused individuals and successfully arrested Mahender during one of the raids. His accomplice, Sandeep, was also apprehended in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
