1,500kg Fireworks Seized in South and North Delhi

Firework Banned for Upcoming Festivals


Delhi Police found and seized 1,500 kg of banned firecrackers and arrested four people in South and North Delhi.

 

In the first incident, the police arrested three individuals and found 1,300 kilograms of firecrackers in South Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur. The police had received a tip-off about the presence of the fireworks in two locations in Kotla Mubarakpur. After conducting raids, the three suspects, identified as Yogender (62), Kishan Lal (60), and Akash Vashishith (35), were apprehended, and a case was registered. According to an officer, the accused revealed that they had obtained the stock from Gurgaon.

 

In another situation, the police discovered 189 kg of fireworks in Sadar Bazar. An officer mentioned that they were alerted to the fireworks stored near Katra Chamar Wala Pench while patrolling the area.

 

Following a check to confirm the report, a raid took place at the site, leading to the seizure of the firecrackers. The person responsible, identified as Mohammad Shanawaj (32), was arrested. He had acquired the firecrackers from someone he met in Nangloi.
