10 students committed suicide two days after their result declared

Principal and lecturers allegedly reprimanded her in front of her classmates...


On Friday, an intermediate first year student, Jagannatham Vani (17), committed suicide who failed in a subject, by hanging in her hostel room in Vijayawada. After her college principal and lecturers allegedly reprimanded her infront of her classmates she took the extreme step.

 

On Friday Vani, who was depressed, stayed back in her hostel room and after her roommates left for the classes, she committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan. The hostel staff who noticed Vani hanging informed the management. She was shifted to a private hospital, where doctors declared her as brought dead.

 

In a separate incident, 17-year-old student, B Tarun of Srikakulam district, jumped in front of a running train near Tekkali. The student failed to clear most of the papers of the first year intermediate course.

 

In different incidents, A Akhilasree (17), B Jagadeesh (18) and Tulaso Tharun (17), allegedly ended their lives by hanging in Visakhapatnam. Two other students aged 17 years from Chittoor district committed suicide after failing in their exams. While a girl jumped into a lake, a boy committed suicide by consuming pesticide. In Hanakanahal of Anantapur district, Mahesh (17), and Shaik Jaan Saida (16) of Nandigama and a boy from Chillakallu of NTR district committed suicide by hanging after failing in the exams.
