Times Magazine India shares a journey of an educator Mrs. Mona Choudhary, who started making educational videos on Youtube. Finally, she has a family of 183k followers in gk_facts_masala and 133k followers in maths_masala on Instagram.

While interviewing the content creator, we can understand the principles of dedication and commitment toward work which may pave the path to success.

Listing the various questions of the interview, we asked.

What is education for you? What idea inspired you to be an educator?

For me, education is a must for everyone, especially for women. As "educating a woman means educating a generation."

I have been passionate about teaching since my college days. I used to teach my classmates. So, being an educator is my passion rather than only a profession.

What made you pick social media as a medium for sharing knowledge?

Social media is a blessing for me! My home was on the outskirts of my city. I didn't have the facility to take tuition or reach coaching centres for teaching students. Then, I got to know about Youtube and started creating my videos. Now, I am working on social media only. It did help me a lot to adhere to my passion.

Please share with us the journey of reaching a family of 183k on gk_facts_masala and 133k on the maths_masala Instagram page.

It all started when I left my job and wanted to create my platform. I worked on YouTube but didn't have many views. Watching my family viewing short videos, I decided to work on creating Instagram handle maths_masala (my first baby, I say it). Although, the journey was not easy!

It took a lot of hard work, patience and sleepless nights to reach the family of 183k. 6-7 months of commitment and dedication made my dream come true. I was in Cloud 9!

After then, I created my second handle gk_facts_masala and worked on that with the same efforts. Both pages got the boom. Hopefully, soon they will reach out to millions.

We request you to share the procedure for making reel videos. How much time do you spend finalizing the content and uploading it?

For a 20 to 30 sec video, it takes a lot of time to finalize. I want it to be the best. Uploading videos is a must for me!

Once, I deleted one of my videos of the initial days that got 40k views because I was not happy with the content. I make my videos, edit them and post them with trending songs and hashtags.

It is a full-time job! 100 per cent commitment is necessary to achieve your goal. 2-3 hours take the reels. After that, my time goes into searching for content and strategies.

I believe in delivering new and original content. My followers can learn differently, which makes me unique. I don't copy-paste from others.

Looking into the current scenario, what do you think the school education lacks to deliver to enhance student knowledge.

Stating the current scenario, I won't say that all schools are the same. However, more than 50% of schools don't care if the student is learning or not. Schools are not focusing on practical work and knowledge.

For a growing mind, practical knowledge is essential!

So, if they focus on practical work more, It will be easy for students to grab it in less time.

How do you feel as a content creator?

Being a content creator, I feel very responsible as my video is being watched by many of my followers. One incorrect information is not healthy for them. I check my videos twice thrice and compile them before posting. So, this is my responsibility as an educator and a content creator.

Please share with us how you survived the pandemic as an educator.

On a serious note, it was easy for online educators to work during the pandemic as social media got boom and all companies came online. So, there was "No work loss!"

What do you think are the most asked questions by your followers?

Mostly, the followers ask about my digital board. They get crazy when they see me working on that.

The followers ask me about my courses and live videos on YouTube. Many had asked doubts. These are the questions asked by them.

Please share with us some of the feedback that you receive from your followers regarding your education pages.

Replying to this note, Mrs. Choudhary shared some comments (screenshots) from her followers admiring her page and efforts.

Which are your mostly viewed and liked reel videos till now.

My first video that got viral got around 1M views (on maths_masala)

Despite that, the most viewed is my video on gk_facts_masala with 7.2M views and more than 2 Lakhs likes.

What do you think will be the age group attracted the most by your Instagram page?

Keeping this in mind, I observed that the youth between 18-30 get attracted to my content. I hope my videos are worth enough to help them gain knowledge and crack competitive exams.

We request you share some tips for educators who want to pursue their careers through social media.

For every new creator, I will say that if you have started your career as a content creator. Then, do it with full responsibility and give your 100%.
