12 Congress members resigns in Telangana

MLA Seethakka also resigned…

On Monday morning, as many as 12 Telangana leaders resigned from the recently-formed Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).

This development is allegedly in response to “migrant” leaders being given posts ahead of senior party loyalists. It has caused infighting among the party leaders in Telangana.

In their official resignation letters, the leaders claimed that CM K Chandrashekar Rao had been running a dictatorial rule in the state.

They added that there was a need for a strong struggle to dethrone KCR. The members who resigned also included Telangana MLA Seethakka.

The letter further reads that Lok Sabha MP Uttam Kumar Reddy had alleged that over 50 per cent of the new PCC members were leaders who recently joined the party from the Telugu Desam Party, led by former CM Chandrababu Naidu.

The letter also claimed that this had disappointed leaders who worked for Congress for the last six years.

The list of leaders who resigned includes, Vijayaramana Rao, Vajresh Yadav, Seethakka (MLA) and Pradesh Executive Committee (PEC) member Vem Narender Reddy, Dommati Sambaiah, vice-presidents Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, DCC president, Karimnagar, Subhash Reddy, Charakonda Venkatesh, Sattu Mallesh, Patel Ramesh Reddy, Shashikala Yadav and Chiluka Madhusudhan Reddy, general secretaries.

In the letter, these leaders stated that the reason they had joined the Congress was due to their reverence towards Sonia Gandhi who delivered Telangana.

"It is unfortunate that some leaders have targeted us and our efforts for strengthening the party," stated the letter.
