12 died and 25 injured, after bus fell into gorge, from the old Mumbai-Pune highway

Rescue work is underway and moving injured to the nearest hospital.....


In Maharashtra, at least 12 passengers died and almost 25 wounded after a bus fell into a gorge, Raigad district, according to the police official. While traveling from Pune to Mumbai the bus had almost 40 passengers on it. On the old Mumbai-Pune highway the accident took place, near Shingroba temple.

 

Rescue work is underway and moving injured to the nearest hospital. According to Raigad superintendent of police, "On the bus there was 40 to 45 people out of which, seven died and 25 people were injured, the rescue worker is still underway, to pull out the bus a crane has been called."

 

According to visuals from the site, windows and the roof of the bus were completely damaged in the accident. Rescue team is a using ropes to take survivors to safety.

 

Passengers on the bus were belonged to an organization who were coming back after attending an event in Pune, according to the officials.
