Delhi: 12 people are dying every hour in the National Capital


The National capital is facing a shortage of oxygen as well as medicinal supplies due to which many people are dying. According to official data, around 12 people die every hour in the National capital. From Monday to Saturday  (April 19 to 24) Delhi has reported 1,777 deaths over 12 deaths per hour on an average. Taking about the previous week (April 12 to 17)Delhi reported  677 deaths over 5 deaths per hour. Meanwhile, Saturday was the worst day since the beginning of the pandemic in terms of daily deaths as it recorded around 15 deaths per hour.

Cases in the National capital are incessantly increasing whereas the condition is deteriorating, Covid-19 has created an alarming situation in the capital where managing beds, oxygen and other medical resources have become obscure.

Over the week Delhi's positivity rate increased from  2612 per cent to 32.27 per cent. This meant every person being tested is infected with this deadly virus. Also, containment zones increased drastically in the city reporting an increase of 64.91 per cent. There were 15,039 containment zones in the city on Monday and till Saturday Delhi has 24,082 Containment zones.
