13,000 Dengue Cases in Uttar Pradesh

24 Deaths, Hospitals on High Alert

Lucknow: The recent fluctuations in weather conditions have led to a notable increase in dengue cases in Uttar Pradesh. As per the state government's records, there have been 24 confirmed deaths, but the overall death toll is likely to be higher once data from private hospitals is considered.

In numerous cities, local hospitals have been admitting a substantial number of dengue patients, with new cases emerging daily. It is alarming to observe that the dengue case count in the state has now surpassed 13,000, with Lucknow, Moradabad, Meerut, Kanpur, and Noida identified as the hotspots in Uttar Pradesh. In the past 24 hours alone, over 600 new dengue cases have been reported in the state.

In response to these events, the State Health Minister, Brajesh Pathak, has instructed hospitals to increase the number of beds and encouraged private hospitals to set up separate wards for dengue patients.

Over half of the dengue patients in Lucknow's hospitals now require dialysis and ventilator assistance. Major hospitals are fully occupied by dengue patients, and the daily inflow of cases in the state continues to rise.

In addition to dengue, instances of viral fever, malaria, and typhoid are on the rise in the state. In the past week, there have been more than 1,080 new dengue cases in Lucknow, 1,024 in Moradabad, and 923 in Kanpur. Varanasi has reported 17 cases of dengue, while Gorakhpur has identified seven dengue patients.
