School Owner Held in Investigation


A tragic incident occurred in China's Henan province, where a fire broke out in the dormitories of Yingcai School, claiming the lives of at least 13 individuals. The blaze was reported by Yanshanpu village residents around 11 pm on Friday, as stated by China's state-run media Xinhua.

 

Rescuers swiftly responded, and the flames were extinguished by 11:38 pm, as mentioned in the report. The details about the identity of the deceased, particularly whether they were students, remain unclear. One individual is reported to be injured and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, with authorities looking into the matter. According to CCTV, the owner of the school has been detained in connection with the incident.

 

Yingcai School, as reported by Beijing Youth Daily, serves elementary-grade students and includes an attached kindergarten.

Anger has surged on Chinese social media platforms, with people demanding accountability and punishment for those responsible for any safety lapses in the tragic incident.

 

On Weibo, a person expressed deep sorrow, stating, "It's too scary, 13 children from 13 families, all gone in an instant... if there is no severe punishment, their souls will not rest in peace," as reported by news agency AFP.
