14 people died at a residential building in Jharkhand

A massive fire broke out at Dhanbad


On 31 January 2023, nearly 14 people died including 10 women and three children after a massive fire broke out at an apartment in Ashirwad Tower near shakti mandir in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.

According to the senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Dhanbad Sanjiv Kumar, 14 people died and 12 were injured. He further mentioned that the fire spread rapidly and several people were in the apartment to attend a marriage function.

The fire tenders have rushed to the spot and the cause of the fire is not yet confirmed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolence on his Twitter account over the loss of lives due to the fire in Dhanbad.

Chief minister Hemant Soren said that the district administration is working on the emergency relief and the treatment for the injured and he is personally monitoring the incident.
