15% Reservation in Odisha Medical and Engineering Colleges for State Board Students, Naveen Patnaik

An additional 15 percent reservation has been announced in state medical and engineering colleges. CM Naveen Patnaik has given this good news to the State Board Students.

New rules of reservation are going to be implemented in the State Engineering and Medical Colleges of Odisha. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is on Wednesday, 31 March 2021 an announcement to this effect. He has reported 15% additional reservation in various engineering and medical colleges of the state.

This declaration of Odisha CM has brought good news for thousands of students of the state. The Chief Minister has said that this judgement has been taken to end inequality among students and to provide equal opportunities to meritorious students of government schools.

Naveen Patnaik has announced that Odisha Board (Odisha Board) Students will be given the benefit of 15 percent reservation in engineering and medical colleges of the state. Students who have passed the 10th (BSE) and 12th (CHSE) exams from the Odisha Board will be given 15% reservation in government engineering and medical colleges in the state.

This reservation will be given to students of all categories. That is, from general category to OBC, SC, ST. This 15 percent state quota will be applicable in all classes. At the same time, if the eligible candidates are not found and the seats remain vacant then they will be filled with other students of the respective categories (other than the state quota). The state government has taken this decision based on the recommendations of the High-Level Committee.
