16 cars smashed while one set on fire by three youngsters

Three goons who went on rampage in Nagpur arrested within 10 hours


Two separate FIR were filed against three youngsters at Ajni and Beltarodi police station, all aged 18 who out for a birthday party and decided to have some fun on their way back to home. The incident took place on early hours of Thursday at Narendra Nagar in East Nagpur when the three smashed the windscreens of at least 16 cars and set ablaze one.

They stole the petrol from some vehicles to fill the fuel tank of their bike from the vehicle parked in their locality and also filled some in a bottle, which later they used to put a car on fire. Sameer Raut, the owner of the car that was set on fire stated, “I had no enmity or rivalry with anyone. The three set my car on fire at about 4.20am and fled within a couple of minutes as seen in a CCTV camera.” He has parked his car in front of his residence at Narendra Nagar and an employee of private company.

The three have been identified as Ritesh Dekate, a resident of Pachasi Plot Area, Avish Taywade, a resident of Saikrupa society, Narendra Nagar and Chirag Thulkar, a resident of Empress mall society near Suyog Nagar Garden.

“Based on human intelligence network, the identities of the three were established. Dekate had slipped away to Hinganghat, from where he has been nabbed,” said Vijay Akot, Senior inspector.

The vehicle they rode had been seized and separate complaints has lodged under sections 379, 435, 427 and 34 of the IPC by Beltarodi and Ajni against the three among which, one already have a criminal record.
