The accused surrendered to the police after killing his sister

Mumbai: A heart-wrenching incident took place on the streets of the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra. A teenager beheaded his 19-year-old sister with their mother's help and allegedly displayed her head before neighbours in an alleged case of dishonour killing.

This took place on Sunday. According to the police, the investigation claims that the boy and his mother took selfies with the severed head.

The young woman's husband was at home when she was killed allegedly by her mother and brother. Accused also tried to attack his brother-in-law but he managed to escape.

According to the police officials, after beheading his pregnant sister, the teenager took the severed head to the verandah and waved it in the air for all to see before surrendering. 

The deceased was named Kirti Thore in June, she eloped and had been living with her husband. Her mother contacted her last week and asked to visit her. She returned to her daughter's home with her son on Sunday.

In a statement by a senior cop in Vaijapur where the incident took place, Kailash Prajapati said: "The mother had visited the daughter a week ago. On December 5, she came again with her son. The victim's house is in the field. She was working in the field with her mother-in-law. Seeing mother and brother, she left her work in the field and rushed to greet them. She gave water to both of them and went to the kitchen to make tea. This is when her brother came from behind and beheaded her." 

The officer also added, "Her husband, who was ill, was lying in the house. He woke up hearing the sound of falling utensils and rushed to the kitchen. The woman's brother tried to kill him too but he escaped. Later, the brother came out of the house with her head in his hand. He then came to the police station and surrendered." The accused is arrested by the police.
