2 Students Of LSR College, Jamia Millia Islamia Win Prestigious Diana Award


In Prestigious  Diana Award 2021 Two students from Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College and Jamia Millia Islamia have won the award for advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Devanshi Ranjan,21 a final-year student of LSR has been awarded a helping hand in the society for the underprivileged girl's children with the education in a hard time of the pandemic. Meanwhile, Ranjan is also working in an NGO Ladli Foundation Trust.Whereas, Kaif Ali, a fourth-year student of Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) at Jamia Millia Islamia has been an active designer for designing a sustainable shelter in reducing the transmission of the coronavirus. Kaif Ali designs now executes in Lagos, Nigeria also approved by the Government of India, the Commonwealth of Nations, and the United Nations under the top 11 emerging innovation start-ups solving climate action .

The Prestigious  Diana Award was established in the memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, where the awards have been given to those young people who can work for social action or humanitarian efforts. It is given by the charity of the same name and has the support of both her sons -- the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex. The student has been overwhelmed with joy as their work has been appreciated and awarded.Ranjan also says about the increasing number in the society where girl children have left their studies, due to financial crisis that why she works with an NGO Ladli Trust and under its program 'Pathshala' conducted workshops and educated students from slums and villages. She has taught  1,000 children in the slums across New Delhi she even distributed the essential stuff in the semi-urban and rural areas of Delhi-NCR.With the Diana Award people are growing to be changemakers for their generation as the award is given to people under the age category 9-25 years from the UK and all over the globe which aims to honor young people to get involved in their communities and begin their journey as active citizens.
