20-YEAR OLD WOMAN KILLED HER NEWBORN

SHE IS UNMARRIED AND AFRAID FROM SOCIAL STIGMA


On Monday, in east Delhi’s New Ashoka vihar, a newborn was killed by his 20-year old mother, police said.

 

The mother of a newborn, unmarried, threw her baby from the window of her washroom allegedly to escape social stigma. According to resources, On Monday she delivered the baby.

 

In Jai Ambey apartments, the newborn was thrown by the woman from a height, Delhi police said.

 

Later, the baby was taken to the Metro hospital in Noida, found by locals, from where he was shifted to the LBS Hospital where he was declared dead.

 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Amrutha Guguloth, did the search to find the culprit. Police checked several houses in that area where the newborn was found, and questioned the locals.

 

In on house during the investigation police found the girl. She was questioned about the happening, and admitted giving birth to a baby boy and throwing him from her washroom window.

 

“She said that she was unmarried and fearing social stigma, she tried to get rid of the baby,” said the DCP.

 

The woman works in Noida in the private sector, has been booked for murder. The crime spot has inspected by a crime team and collect evidence for further probe.

 

“We have registered a case under section 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the Indian Penal Code and the accused woman is presently in the hospital and is under observation,” the DCP said.
