21-year-old shot dead, five injured in an open fire

The suspected motive is of revenge for a murder in 2007


On Thursday, a 21-year-old man was killed and five others were injured after unidentified assailants opened fire at a family of former sarpanch in the Kasan village of Manesar region in Gurugram. The accused is currently on the run.

 

Reportedly, the family was attacked due to old, mutual enmity related to a 2007 murder revenge. The relatives of the victims alleged that a man named Rinku is behind the attack. The incident was reported around 8 pm when the family of Gopal was offering prayers on the occasion of Diwali. The assailants entered the house and started shooting randomly.

 

When the assailants entered the house and opened fire, a 21-year-old youngster was killed in the attack while an eight-year-old child was also injured in the same. The pet dog of the family also sustained many injuries in the firing while he tried protecting one of the family members. They were rushed to a private hospital where the five injured are currently hospitalized. Amongst the five two are in critical condition.

 

Veer Singh, ACP Pataudi who also has the additional charge of Manesar said, “One person succumbed to the injuries at the hospital while five from the family are undergoing treatment. Multiple gunshots were fired. Teams are conducting raids to nab the accused.” A police officer informed that, “when the assailants entered the house, the family’s pet dog charged at them. The dog was injured in the firing has been taken for the treatment.” The police have said an FIR will be lodged once the family’s statement is recorded.
