28-year-old rapes 5-year-old girl

A complaint was filed at the Shegaon police station under section 376(a)(b), 376(2)(j) and sections under POCSO Act against Gajbhe.


A five-year- old girl was allegedly raped by a 28-year-old man, Ganesh Gajbhe in Maharashtra on Sunday. The girl was returning home from festive feast when the accused caught hold of her. He then forced himself upon her at cattle shed in Arjuni village, 15km from Warora taluka headquarters.

The girl had fallen behind her mother and sister while returning from the feast in the village at 9pm Sunday. A woman who was passing by the shed, on witnessing the incident immediately informed the girl’s family. They rushed to rescue her but the accused had escaped.

A complaint was filed at the Shegaon police station under section 376(a)(b), 376(2)(j) and sections under POCSO Act against Gajbhe. The police official, Avinash Meshram launched a manhunt and the accused was arrested within hours. A further investigation into the matter will be conducted by PSI Pravin Jadhav.
