Terror groups becoming active in Manipur…

According to security officials, an apparent ambush resulted in the deaths of three persons in the Kangpokpi area of Manipur on Tuesday morning.

Initial reports state that on Tuesday at around 7:00 am, three Kuki-Zomi community members who were traveling in a vehicle were attacked close to Ireng Naga hamlet in the Kangpokpi area.

Ngamminlun Lhouvum, Ngamminlun Kipgen, and Satneo Tuboi have been named as the three victims.

Manipur's battle has been going on for more than four months, and there have been numerous reports of murders and violent outbursts.

After heavy gunfire broke out in Pallel on Friday, at least two persons were murdered and numerous more were hurt, including three Manipur police officers and an Assam Rifles soldier.

The administration has been trying to settle the ethnic conflict through politics. In August, The Indian Express had reported that the state government had told the federal government that it was willing to give the Manipur hill councils more authority.

"The government and the remainder of the state's inhabitants do not accept separate administration, in whatever form the Kukis seek it. We are prepared to resolve the hill tribes' concern, sources told this newspaper.
