3 Soldiers Killed In Attack On J&K Army Camp

2 Terrorists Shot Dead!

Three soldiers were killed in action and two were injured in a pre-dawn attack on an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri. Two terrorists, who were detected trying to scale a fence to enter the army camp, were shot dead.

As per the information, "Some terrorists tried to cross the fence of the army camp at Pargal. The sentry challenged them and an exchange of fire took place," Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh said.

Further Singh added, more forces have been sent to the army camp to secure the area.

As per the information, the attack also comes just a day after the police averted a major tragedy by recovering a 25 kg improvised explosive device in Pulwama district of the Union Territory.

This was the first major terrorist attack on an army facility in Jammu and Kashmir since February 2018, when terrorists attacked the Sunjwan camp in Jammu region.

Very sorry to hear about the death in the line of duty of three soldiers following a militant attack in Rajouri. While condemning the attack I send my condolences to the families and my prayers for the swift recovery of those officers and jawans injured in the attack," former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted.

In a similar terror attack in 2016, 18 soldiers were killed in action in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri.
