30th Edition Of New Delhi World Book Fair 2022 Gets Postponed

Fresh dates to be announced!


The 30th edition of the New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) 2022 has been postponed. The reason behind the postponement is due to the surge in the Daily tally of Covid cases. The Cases in the Capital city are at their peak.

 

As per the Information, the fair was scheduled to take place at New Delhi's famous Pragati Maidan where other fairs also take place.

 

The dates were scheduled from January 8 to 16 but due to the rise in Covid and omicron in the capital city this has been postponed and the fresh dates will be released separately.

 

Also, the previous year this fair was organized on an online basis due to the Covid pandemic. The theme for this year was, "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav."

 

Commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence. A number of the literary and cultural programme including children's corner, the yuva corner, the seminar was supposed to take place and this was supposed to be organized with the France guest country which, unfortunately will not take place.

 

On Tuesday the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) imposed a weekend curfew in the National capital after witnessing a surge in Daily cases of Covid. The curfew will be in effect from 10 pm on Friday and 5 am on Monday in Delhi.

 

According to the statement, PTI said, "In view of the latest guidelines and requests made by various stakeholders, the NDWBF 2022 has been postponed. The fresh dates will be announced separately " said National Book Trust (NBT) to PTI.
