4 Dead in North East Express Train Derailment in Bihar

Around 100 Injured in the Tragic Incident...


On Wednesday, a tragic incident occurred near Buxar, Bihar, when the North East Express train derailed. This unfortunate event resulted in the loss of at least four lives and left approximately 100 individuals injured. 

 

The train, originating from Anand Vihar Terminus in Delhi and bound for Kamakhya near Guwahati in Assam, experienced the derailment close to Raghunathpur station around 9.35 pm, as reported by an official.

 

Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, in a conversation with NDTV, reported that teams from both the national and state disaster response forces have arrived at the scene of the incident.

 

He additionally mentioned that the injured individuals will be transported to AIIMS in Patna.

 

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav mentioned that he has reached out to the Disaster Management Department, Health Department, and the district officials in Buxar and Bhojpur to accelerate relief and rescue operations.

 

The office of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed that they are closely observing the regrettable train derailment incident in Raghunathpur.

 

They have stated their ongoing communication with the Buxar district authorities and various other agencies involved in managing the situation.
