5 Dead In Jharkhand After Coal Mine Caves In

Incident took place In Dhanbad's Gopinathpur


Many unknown happenings take place, this is another major incident that took place in a coal mine. Five People lost their lives in Coal Mines after the mine caved in. 


As per the information, The incident occurred Tuesday morning at the Eastern Coalfields’ open cast mine in the Gopinathpur area of Dhanbad in Jharkhand where five persons have lost their lives during an incident.


According to an official statement, it said, "Five people including four women were found dead in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand after they were trapped in an open cast coal mine, part of which caved in." 

 

It said, the bodies of the deceased were rescued and brought out of three women and one man’s dead bodies, and one woman was rushed to the hospital for treatment but was later found dead. All five had gone to the mine to get coal and sell it in the market as well as to use it in their house as fuel.


According to PTI, The government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by Superintendent of Police (Dhanbad-Rural) Reeshma Ramesan, to probe the mishap at the Gopinathpur abandoned mines of ECL in Nirsa police station area during illegal mining by locals, the police were quoted saying to PTI.


According to the statement given by Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh said “We received information on a few people being trapped in the ECL Mugma area. We coordinated with the ECL GM (General Manager), and the SDM and the police went to the spot to check. It was a prohibited area and we have asked the ECL to use the CISF personnel to increase their security. A total of five persons were found dead.”
