5 Killed As Train Runs Over Then In Andhra Pradesh

Incident took place in AP's Srikakulam District!


One another mishap took place in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam District. Around five people have been killed during this incident.

 

According to the information on Monday Night, At least five people were killed, and a few others were injured after being run over by a speeding train near Bathuva under G Sigadam Mandal in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.

 

According to the local police as reported by Hindu the Information states that, Due to a technical glitch, the Secunderabad-Guwahati Superfast Express halted close to the Batuva railway gate. Due to the high heat, some passengers got down from the train to get cool air.

 

According to Srikakulam Superintendent of police (SP), "Someone in Guwahati express had pulled the chain and the train stopped and five people got down and were crossing the track. At that time Konark express was coming in the opposite direction on the adjacent track, these people were hit by the train and died on spot."

 

The police are yet to establish the identity of the deceased persons. The bodies will be sent for the post-mortem, the police added.

 

State Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed anguish over the death of passengers. CM Reddy has directed officials to take stock of the situation. The CMO has been directed to coordinate with officials to provide the highest aid to the injured. Meanwhile, the CM is personally monitoring the situation and resuing operations.
