LUCKNOW: A five-year-old girl who was playing in a park touched a bicycle with her muddied hands was allegedly stabbed to death by its infuriated owner in UP's Maharajganj district.
Little victim Rimjhim was playing with her friends in the park on Tuesday when she alleged assailant, 21-year-old Deepak Kumar, parked his bicycle near them, police said.
The girl saw the bicycle and she proceeded to touch the seat, which angered the owner so much that he allegedly knifed her more than once and fled, leaving her fatally wounded. She was brought dead to the nearest hospital by some residents of the area, who also alerted the police to the crime. The accused was arrested soon after.
SHO Satyaprakash Singh of the local police station said Deepak, a labourer from Mushar village, was known to temperamental and prone to picking up quarrels at the slightest provocation.
Rimjhim's bereaved father, Ganesh Dhanikar, demanded the maximum punishment to his daughter's assailant.
