6 people died and 12 injured in the south US

Alabama experienced Tornado and heavy storms...


On 12 January 2023, Thursday nearly 6 people died due to heavy storm and tornado in central Alabama. Nearly 40 to 50 mobile homes and Conventional homes were destroyed by the storm maximum in Old Kingston community.

According to Ernie Baggett, the emergency management director in Autauga County that at least 12 people were injured and taken to the hospital by emergency responders. He further added that search and rescue is going on but there are certain houses that were completely turned into debris and haven't been searched yet.

The storm continued in the east with the neighboring state in Georgia, a tree fell on a vehicle resulting in death of the passengers due to the heavy storm.

As per the National Weather Service, the large and extremely dangerous tornado caused the worst damage in the historical city of Selma 66 kilometers away from Alabama. Approximately, 33 separate tornado reports on Thursday evening with harmful tornado effects in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. However, the report is not yet confirmed by the officials.

Kay Ivey, Governor of Alabama posted on her twitter that it is sad to have learned that six Alabamians were lost to the storms. Along with that the city added on Facebook that “City crews will be dispatched as soon as possible to clean up."
