7 Dead In Gujarat As Heavy Rain Leads To Flood-Like Situation

The six areas have been affected badly!


Gujarat witnesses 7-8 deaths leading to incessant rainfall in the state.  According to the information, people have died after a wall collapsed due to incessant rain in Gujarat. Thousands of people have been affected by the flood-like situation in the state. The incessant rain has wrecked havoc on several areas of the state, including Ahmedabad and Rajkot.


As per the information, A total of 64 people have died in different rain related incidents in Gujarat. 33 people have died due to lightning, 8 died due to wall collapse, 16 people died due to drowning, 6 people have died due to trees falling on them and a person died as an electric pole fell on him.

 

Rajkot received 7 inches of rain last night. The city is facing water logging issues due to heavy rain in Gujarat.


According to the statement the Met department , it has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rains in Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and Surat during the next five days.

 

The six worst affected regions include Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Narmada, Chhota Udepur and Panchmahal.


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the next 24 hours in Rajkot. The city administration has declared a holiday for several schools and colleges.

 

Four doors of Rajkot’s Aji-2 Dam were opened to curb the flood-like situation in the city. People staying at low lying areas are being evacuated to safer places.
