7 Killed in Big Fire in Maharashtra's Aurangabad

Authorities Investigate Cause of Deadly Blaze

Today, a massive fire in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar claimed the lives of seven people, including three women, two men, and two children, according to officials.

At approximately 4 am, a fire ignited in a tailoring shop, causing panic in the neighborhood. Firefighters promptly responded, extinguishing the flames, yet tragically, seven lives were lost in the blaze before it could be contained.

Manoj Lohiya, the Police Commissioner of Sambhaji Nagar, confirmed that the fire originated in the Alam Tailors shop. Although the fire didn't reach the residential areas on the upper floors, it's suspected that the victims tragically succumbed to smoke inhalation.

"The shop suddenly caught fire around 4 am. The police were informed about the incident at 4:15 am. Smoke infiltrated the first floor where a family resided above the shop. Seven casualties have been reported due to suffocation," informed Police Commissioner Manoj Lohiya to reporters.

Authorities are presently conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire. Post-mortem examinations have been ordered for the victims to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths.
