9 DIED, SEVERAL INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT

SUV ran into a luxury bus at Navsari...

On early Saturday, SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) collapsed with a luxury bus, resulting in death of 9 people and injuring many. The people who got injured in the accident were shifted to the nearby private hospital.

The incident occurred on a National Highway in Navsari near Vesma village when a bus was returning from the Pramukh Swami Maharaj Shatabdi Mahotsav event from Surat to Valsad, collapsed with a Toyota Fortuner car. The driver had a cardiac arrest. “The SUV passengers were residents of Ankleshwar, Gujrat. They were returning to their hometown in Valsad”, Navsari Superintendent of Police (SP) Rushikesh Upadhyay said.

The mishap caused a disturbance on the highway; the police used the crane to remove the bus and resume traffic.

According to VN Patel, deputy superintendent of police in Navsari, “The accident occurred on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway. Eight people died on the spot along with the driver of a bus. The injured passengers have been shifted to Surat”.
