A Cab Driver Tried To Molest His Three Women Passanger

On Saturday, October 17, 2020, two women in Punjab's Amritsar had jumped out of a running cab when it's driver allegedly tried to molest one of them, said by Police.
Apart from these two women, there was another third woman who was also in the cab and was rescued by the local citizens who chased and stopped the vehicle when they saw the woman duo jumping out of the taxi.
Police said to PTI, that later the driver has been arrested.
SHO Robin Hans said that these three women had hired a cab in the evening to go to a restaurant in Ranjit Avenue locality.
The SHO also stated, when the three women sat in the car, and the taxi was on the way, the driver started molesting one of the three women, the woman started pushing him back, as she resisted, the driver started increasing the vehicle's speed. But somehow the woman along with one more woman, jumped out of the running cab.
Hans also added that some local people who were standing on the roadside saw the two women were jumping out of the running cab. People chased and intercepted the vehicle and saw another woman who was stuck-ed in the cab, and they rescued that woman.
Robin Hans lastly said, that the cab driver however managed to fled from the scene, but police arrested him within few hours of this incident.
A case has been registered under section 341(wrongful restraint), 354(assault or criminal force to woman with an intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Panel Code (IPC)
