A family of five died in the Andhra Road accident

Five members of a family brutally died in a car accident as their car rammed into a truck from the rear in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district, the police informed. The police also said that the accident took place in the early hours of Monday. 

 

The accident happened at the Cumbam town on Amaravati-Anantapur Highway approximately around 4:30 am, as per the police. The deceased family included three women, who hailed from Sirigiripadu Village in Veldurti Mandal of the Palnadu district.

 

A police official from the Cumbam police station informed that the family do not wish them to be named. The officer said, “Preliminary investigation have revealed that the car was being driven at a high speed and the driver failed to notice the truck going on at a slow pace at a road curve, as a result of which it rammed into the truck from the rear side”. 

 

The police present on the scene reported that there were five passengers in the car during the accident and all five of them died on the spot. The police said that after receiving the information about the tragic accident they immediately rushed to the scene and took the deceased bodies to a government hospital nearby for further autopsy.

 

The police later identified the deceased family as Animi Reddy (60), Guravamma (60), Anantamma (55), Adilaxmi (58) and Nagi Reddy (24). Victims of this tragic accident were on their way to Tirupati from Marcherla in Palanad district, a Police officer from the Cumbam police station reported. 

 

The police registered a case under section 80 (Accident in doing a lawful act) of IPC and an investigation is underway.
