NEW DELHI: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has launch ‘winter action plan’ to rescue homeless people in Delhi on Tuesday.

 

The government has set up a 24x7 centralised control room and issued helpline numbers to make sure to provide free food, lodging facilities and to make the plan more effective.

 

The help line numbers are 14461, 011-23378789 and 011-23370560. Through these numbers residents can inform the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) or Rain Basera App, immediately the team will reach at the location.

 

 

Out of 195 night shelters, 19 were booked for families, 17 for women and four for drug addicts. The homeless will be provided with food, lodging, lockers, complaint boxes, an ambulance, free medical facilities, three meals per day and free medicine.

DUSIB had been set up 15 rescue teams, each equipped with one vehicle for surveillance. So far, more than 1,500 homeless people have been rescued by the rescue teams, according to the reports.

 

Manish Sisodia has said, “The government has established 195 shelter homes for the homeless, which have the capacity of accommodating over 17,000 people.
