Abortion Rights Overturned By US. Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of USA on Friday wiped out its constitutional right to abortion

The US Supreme Court took a historically dramatic decision of turning over its 1973 landmark judgment in the Roe Vs. Wade ruling.

This judgment was considered a basis for abortion as a legally granted right by the constitution for almost half a century.

Under which the Constitution of the United States protected a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion.

But, on Friday in a 6-3 ruling by a conservative majority, held by Mississippi Law backed by Republicans banned abortion after 15 weeks.

“Today is a very solemn moment for the United States”  US President Joe Biden exclaimed his concern over the ruling in a Twitter post.

While in his official address after the ruling he said, the ruling is “literally taking America 150 years back.”

Other Democrats like Former President Obama also showed their concern about this decision as an attack on the “essential freedoms of millions of Americans”.

While on the other hand, the Republicans like Former Presidents Donald Trump and others hailed the ruling.

"Today's decision, which is the biggest WIN for LIFE in a generation...(was) only made possible because I delivered everything as promised, including nominating and getting three highly respected and strong Constitutionalists confirmed to the United States Supreme Court," Former US President Donald Trump said in a statement.

Further adding this is “ a decision made by God”.

4 states in the US brought the law into effect from Friday itself and nearly 5 just banned abortions.

Not just US, in fact, according to the Center For Reproductive there are near about 24 countries where abortion is ‘illegal’ and completely prohibited.

On the other hand, countries like India, Japan, most of Europe, Australia, Canada and others have just a few restrictions other than gestational limits.
