Man throws acid at woman and planned to shoot the husband

On Saturday, a man was arrested for throwing acid at a 23-year-old woman for refusing his marriage proposal in Outer-North district’s Bawana. The accused was arrested from Bihar. She was married and had a child. She suffered serious burn injuries and is being treated at a hospital.

On November 3, the police had received information that a stalker had thrown acid on a woman and fled.” The victim was admitted to a hospital and a case was registered on her statement,” said DCP (Outer-North) Brijendra Kumar Yadav. The accused Montu was also a native of Bihar and worked in a factory. He was acquainted with the victim as they lived in the same neighborhood in Samaypur Badli. Reportedly, Montu had been pestering the woman to marry him despite knowing that she is married. He kept telling her to leave her husband but the woman refused his proposal. Later, the woman and her husband moved to Pooth Khurd.

The officer added “Montu followed them to Pooth Khurd and started living in the same area. One day, he called the woman to his room on some pretext and asked her to leave her husband and live with him, but she refused.” She rejection infuriated him so much that he tied her hands and threw acid on her before running away. The woman ran out of the house screaming in pain and sought help from the people. Her husband was informed. “Her face started turning black and she was taking only Montu’s name. Soon, we found that he was absconding and had fled to his native place,” said the officer.

The cops reached Bihar and Montu was arrested. After being brought to Delhi and on being interrogated, Montu revealed that he threw acid on the woman as she refused to marry him and has also planned to shoot the woman’s husband with a country-made pistol which he had hidden somewhere in Outer-North district. The cops took one day custody from the court to take him to the are where he allegedly hid the weapon but he misguided them. Out of nowhere he took the pistol and opened fire on the cops as a result in retaliation he was hit in the right leg.
