Acid Attack On Three Dalit Sisters


On Tuesday October 13, 2020, night, three innocent sisters were attacked with acid in their sleep in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda city. They all are minors and belong to the Dalit community.
The sisters aged 8,12 and 17 years, they were sleeping in their room, when an unknown person threw acid on them. Among the three sisters, two of them have received minor burn injuries and one have received sever injury on her face.

Father of the Dalit girls named Gurhai said this incident took place at 1:30 am on Tuesday. He was sleeping on veranda on the ground floor while his daughters were sleeping on the first floor. He also said he has no clue about who attacked the girls and he suspects that the accused used a ladder to climb up to the room from the other side.


He told a local news channel, "When my daughters screamed, I immediately opened the door and grabbed one of them. When my vest burnt, I got to know that somebody had thrown acid at them."
The sisters have been admitted to a district hospital for their treatment, but no arrests have been made yet.

Gonda SP Shailesh Kumar Pandey told India Today TV "Forensic teams have reached the spot and a police investigation is going on." He also added that the chemical which was used to attack those minor girls is being examined and they are currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital and they are out of danger now.
He also said the eldest girl received 30% burn injuries and the other two received 20% and 5-7% burn injuries.
SP also assured that the accused will be arrested soon and the girls will get justice.
