Adequate Security Arrangement Ahead of ‘Chakka Jam’: Delhi Police

Delhi police says it is adequately prepared with security ahead of ‘chakka jam’


The borders of Delhi have adequate arrangements of security in place, ahead of the February 6 ‘chakka jam’ by the protesting farmers throughout India said the Delhi Police on Friday. The security arrangements are made to prevent any unwanted incidents and content on social media are under surveillance to avoid the spreading of false rumors ahead of the ‘chakka jam.’

Chinmoy Biswal, the Delhi Police’s Public Relations Officer said, “Agitating farmers have proposed ‘chakka jam’ tomorrow. In view of the violence that happened on January 26, the Delhi Police has made adequate security arrangements at the borders so that miscreants cannot enter the national capital.” He further added “We are monitoring content on social media to make sure rumors are not spread against Police or other things. The protestors are camping at the borders of Delhi. We are in touch with police forces from other states too.”

Rakesh Tikait the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader said earlier today that a nationwide ‘chakaa jam’ will be held except in Delhi and added that the ‘chakka jam’ will last for 3 hours on February 6 everywhere outside Delhi. Farmers are protesting against the newly enacted farm laws by the center and are camping at various borders of the national capital since November 26 and are demanding the government to repeal the farm laws.
