Afghanistan crisis: Russia offers to fly out Afghans to other countries

However, Zakharova did not mention anything regarding Russia taking in the Afghans.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that Russia is ready to provide its civilian aircraft to fly Afghan citizens from Afghanistan to other countries. Zakharova said that they are ready to offer flights for "any number of Afghan citizens" to fly them out of the war-torn country to any foreign countries, whichever shows interest in receiving and accommodating them.

"We are ready to offer the services of Russian civilian aviation to provide flights for any number of Afghan citizens including women and children to any foreign countries that show interest in receiving and accommodating them," Zakharova said at a news briefing. However, she did not mention anything regarding Russia taking in the Afghans.

This week, thousands of Afghans desperately flocked to the Kabul airport to flee the country which has now been taken over by the Talibans. People of Afghanistan are in immense fear since the Taliban took control of the country after Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country on Sunday.
