AFGHANISTAN: IN A BLAST SEVEN KILLED AND OTHERS INJURED

In the City of Mazar-i-Sharif


 In a roadside blast in northern Afghanistan, at least seven people have been killed, according to local officials the latest attack in the violence-wracked country.

 

In the City of Mazar-i-Sharif, on Tuesday those killed on blast, 7am (03:00 GMT) included employees on a bus of a petroleum company, said the local officials.

 

Asif Waziri, of the Balkh police department in Mazar-i-Sharif said, “The bomb was placed in a cart by the roadside. It was donated as the bus arrived.”

 

Near the border with Uzbekistan, The northern Balkh province contains one of the country’s main dry ports at the town of Hairatan containing rail and road links to Central Asia.

 

Who was the attackers? It is not immediately clear. Taliban government to bring security which comes amid repeated pledges to Afghanistan following decades of War.

 

Last year after amid withdrawal by United States-led foreign troops, the Taliban government had come to power in August. US troops, who invaded in the country and toppled the group from power in 2001.

 

Last month, in Aybak, a city in Samangan at least 19 people were killed and 24 other wounded in a blast.
