Reportedly, the head of the Taliban political office, Baradar will form the government with Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, who is the son of late Taliban founder Mullah Omar, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, who will be appointed to senior positions in the government.

According to the report, one Taliban official said that all the top leaders have arrived in Kabul and preparations are in final stages to announce the new government. Currently, the group is facing economic collapse and also battling rebel fighters in the Panjshir Valley, the only part left of Afghanistan that has not been conquered by the Taliban yet.
