The Enforcement Directorate (ED) took a stand on the school jobs scam case as on Monday, they informed the Kolkata special court that Partha Chatterjee need not require hospitalization at all. The Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee was arrested for involvement with an alleged school jobs scam.

The Ed said, he has chronic health issues but would not require hospitalization. To further stress the matter the ED also presented a medical report by the AIIMS Bhubaneswar before the court that stated that he is fit and stable. Citing the reports the ED said, “There is nothing wrong with medical reports. He was taking advantage of his position to stay in a state-run hospital. He is fit & can be taken into custody,"

Partha Chatterjee was flown to Bhubaneswar earlier this morning, in an air ambulance by the ED as per the orders given by the Calcutta High Court. The court had ordered on 24 July that ED, which had arrested the accused Partha Chatterjee, fly him to the AIIMS Bhubaneswar immediately by the air ambulance.

The Ed arrested Partha Chatterjee in connection with its probe into the alleged ongoing school jobs scam. Partha Chatterjee was accused of involvement in a high-profile money laundering case linked to the teacher recruitment fraud. He was arrested after Rs 20 Crore were recovered from his aide Arpita Mukherjee, who has also been arrested. The ED has demanded custody of Partha Chatterjee for 14 days.

AIIMS executive director, Ashutosh Biswas told the reporters that, “We have conducted a thorough screening (of Chatterjee). He has some chronic diseases but does not need immediate hospitalization”.
