Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah is likely to visit West Bengal, after one week, on 19 and 20, December.The plan of visit comes in the drawback of scuffle between Saffron party and Trinamool congress after an alleged attack on Nadda's convoy on Thursday.

On Thursday, BJP chief JP Nadda and leader Kailash Vijavvargive’s convoys were attacked in Bengal when the two leaders were on their way to a meet with party workers. Stones were pelted on them on way to Diamond Harbour in Kolkata. Cars of several leaders were damaged due to alleged attack.

Amit Shah stated that, “Bengal has descended into an era of tyranny, anarchy and darkness under the Trinamool rule. The manner in which political violence has been institutionalized and brought to the extreme in West Bengal under TMC rule is sad and worrying.” BJP national president JP Nadda and other leaders claimed that lawlessness in the state under the Mamata Banerjee rule, on the other hand Mamata Banerjee called the incident “nautanki” (drama) staged by the BJP leaders. "Every day BJP activists are coming out for rallies. They are slapping themselves and blaming it on the Trinamool Congress. Just think of the situation. They are roaming around with their leader then why are you so scared," Mamta alleged in Kolkata.
