An elderly woman, 79, found murdered in her southwest Delhi home

New Delhi: A 79-year-old woman was discovered dead inside her home in the Jia Sarai neighborhood of southwest Delhi on Tuesday with a neck injury, according to police.

 

According to a senior police officer, the Kishangarh police station received a PCR call regarding the incident on Sunday at 11 p.m.

 

As soon as the police arrived, they discovered Krishna Devi's body lying in a pool of blood. She had a significant wound on the front of her neck, according to the police.

 

According to the police, Krishna Devi used to receive meals from Mamta, who manages a small kitchen for students.

 

She arrived to deliver her dinner on Sunday night at 9:30 pm but discovered that the light had been turned off. According to authorities, she summoned someone from the second floor after discovering her lying in her room. The officer said that no indication of a robbery or break-in has been seen to yet.

 

The crime team and forensics examined the scene, and the body was taken to Safdarjung Hospital for the autopsy, according to the police.

 

At the Kishangarh police station, a case has been filed under Section 302 of the IPC (murder), and an investigation is ongoing, they stated.
