American actress Angelina Jolie visited the Washington DC White House on Wednesday to meet with the agency to review the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. She later met US gymnasts to discuss the ongoing investigation into the Larry Nassar case.

Hollywood actress Angelina, who is also an activist and humanitarian, took the initiative to meet the officials from the Department of Justice to discuss the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act.

Angelina apparently appeared in the White House press conference room and talked to the journalists about the need for the law to be reauthorized. "In her meetings, she will talk about the importance of VAWA reauthorization, FBI reforms, judicial training, and health equity including non-biased forensic evidence collection," the sources said.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki tweeted about their encounter, calling the actress "tireless and committed" when it comes to defending the rights of women and children. Renewal of the Act on violence against women was discussed during their brief meeting.
